Just had to share a successful animal rescue story - we have many but this is a very recent one that shows just how much time and effort goes into saving each animal and how rewarding it can be for all!
Two of my wonderful friends and fellow members of Companion Animal Placement (CAP) went down to New Orleans to help in the rescue efforts following Katrina. They were extremely successful in rescuing and transporting several homeless animals. All efforts remain to find the original owners but when that doesn't work, the companion animal is put up for permenate adoption.
Such is the case with Praline, an adult male cat who was just adopted at our recent Pet Fair earlier this month.....here is an e-mail from the new owner:
"Hello! So Praline has been renamed to Buddy. And he is THE BEST. He is king of the apartment and has not stopped purring since he got home on Sunday. My roomate and I look forward to coming home and being greeted by our Buddy. He sleeps on my bed with me and night and wakes up with me in the morning. This boy has more toys than any cat could ever want. He is a blessing! Thank you for everything!!!
